Publication Ethics and Malpractice

The Lumina Interdisciplinary Research Journal (LIRJ) adheres to high standards of publication ethics guided by internationally recognized practices, including those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal promotes transparency, integrity, and accountability in all stages of publication.

Editorial Process

The journal upholds editorial independence, fairness, and inclusivity. Submissions undergo:

Initial editorial screening
Double-blind peer review by at least two experts
Evaluation by an associate editor
Final decision by the Editor-in-Chief

Submissions involving inappropriate conduct or unethical communication may be withdrawn.

Peer Review Ethics

LIRJ uses a double-blind peer review system. Each manuscript is reviewed by subject experts and, where appropriate, a methodology specialist. Decisions include acceptance, revision, or rejection. Conflicting reviews may lead to additional evaluation.

Reviewers must provide constructive feedback, maintain confidentiality, and disclose conflicts of interest.

Authorship and Contributorship

Authors must have made substantial contributions to the work, approve the final version, and take responsibility for its content. Full author details must be provided upon submission.

Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. The similarity index must be 15% or below, and the Grammarly rating must be at least 95%. Violations may result in rejection or retraction.

Conflicts of Interest and Funding

All authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.

Use of Human and Animal Subjects

Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical standards and include necessary approvals.

Digital Preservation Policy

The journal ensures long-term preservation through secure digital storage, backups, and archival systems.

Retraction and Correction Policy

Articles may be retracted due to plagiarism, fraud, or serious errors. Authors are notified and allowed to respond before final decisions.

Comments and Debate

The journal accepts scholarly comments on published articles. These undergo review and may include responses from original authors.

Criteria for Acceptance

Manuscripts are accepted based on reviewer recommendations, adherence to ethical standards, and satisfactory revisions.
